René Lacoste was a professional tennis player who retired in the 1960’s to become a fashion designer. Lacoste was unaware of the future success of his label and was primarily interested in designing sportswear for athletes, as well as everyday men and women. Throughout the years, the label achieved world renowned success and has become one of the most talked about labels in the industry. Lacoste’s menswear collection consists of a wide variety of polo tees, long sleeved shirts, collared tees, athletic pants, jeans and running shoes. More importantly, Lacoste’s designs feature the crocodile label, one of the world’s most popular labels. The crocodile was Lacoste’s nickname as a tennis player.
